What is Intelligence Hunt about?

Intelligence Hunt: A Different Kind of an Inspiring Consultancy Project

Intelligence Hunt is designed to attract and engage promising talents in supply chain, logistics, shipping, and the maritime industry. Each project is structured as a professional consultancy assignment ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet industry expectations. The size of the project should be comparable to a high level pre-study consultancy.

The customer gets the project deliverables and access to future talents, whereas the talents get direct working experience in a 2-3 month project with the customer.

Each project team consists of:

  • Key Account Manager
  • Project Director (Head of PMO)
  • Main Expert
  • Visiting Mentors, if needed
  • Team Leader | SeaFocus Consultants or Junior Consultants
  • Talent Team - Students searched for the project

Deliverables & Professional Standards

This initiative is not a traditional student project but a consultancy-level engagement. While students participate as talents, the SeaFocus KAM, experts and PMO hold full responsibility for the project’s deliverables, ensuring that outcomes meet the high standards expected of professional consultancy work. Customer is called a Case Company for promotional reasons.

The PMO and Main Expert oversee the quality of deliverables, guiding the process from project planning to final execution.

How It Works ?

  1. Case Company has a need for a consultancy project but wants something fresh, potentially searching for talents and likes the idea of promotion of the collaboration or the theme of assignment.
  2. The Head of PMO, alongside industry experts, supports the KAM and the Customer in definition of the Case Challenge and develops a structured project plan
  3. A Team Leader is nominated to make a specification of resources needed and finalises a project and resource plan with the head of PMO.
  4. The Talent Team applications will be opened and the team will selected based on the skills sets needed, but also interviewed for optimal team cohesion.
  5. A marketing and promotion plan is made by KAM with the Case Company.
  6. Talent team works with the Team Leader.
  7. Mid term reporting gives guidance for further improvements.
  8. Customer and the Talent team with the Team Leader and the Main Expert will be presenting on stage in the Power of Youth /Intelligence Hunt Show

Please reach us at office@seafocus.international if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We have had winner case companies who spent total 8 hours in 3.5 months, including participation to the finals of 6 hours. Some other companies have had a meeting every 2nd week with a special interest to recruit the team members. This is totally up to a company! The better you will write the assignment text, the less your time is needed, unless you want!

Yes, or a person who can be reachable by email and in Zoom or Teams meetings with agreed intervals to answer the teams possible questions concerning the case assignment.

The case company owns the rights in case the solution is a new innovation. Sometimes the talents find an existing solution which is on the market, and matches the case company’s needs, in which case naturally the IPR belongs to the owner of the solution.

SeaFocus will find the talents who they consider most suitable for each case. SeaFocus approaches around 800 university contacts all over the Europe and will manage the application and evaluation process. The sooner the heading and description of the case is known the more matching students are found. SeaFocus has got understanding of the Case Companies’ businesses, so even without a heading the team of talents will be most matching to each company needs.

Yes, it is included in the fee, and he/she assures the quality of the work. There is also a coordinator from SeaFocus side, who will make sure the team is keeping the deadlines, based on the feedback he/she gets from the mentor.

The talents receive free of charge support in finding jobs, recommendation letters and the best may get a monetary award or an experience award. The biggest award for the students is the project experience and creating a network or high level business professionals, and future colleagues and friends all over the world.

The Case Company will take care of their own travel costs.

The Talent or the Case Company or an institution willing to support the talent, e.g. university or an entity providing stipendiums. This is up to the talent’s activities and also commitment to the project, and communication skills. SeaFocus does not have budget for the travel costs.

The finals is organised as a physical event if possible. Absence of the finals as a talent is not considered as a negative KPI, if no financial or other matters prohibit the participation. The main presentation for the finals is submitted as a video to secure the quality of the presentation, and to avoid online connection problems. The finals is livestreamed and the presentations are found afterwards in the Intelligence Hunt youtube channel.

No. What ever the case company decides to do with the solution afterwards is their own business.

No, our mission is to act as a bridge to find suitable jobs for talents, a “bridge without a road toll fee”.

The students/talents can be from universities of applied sciences, from universities all over the Europe and some even from Asia or USA. We do not limit the participation based on from which university the students come from, quite the contrary. We also support the idea of mixing the skills by welcoming student from different faculty backgrounds to same teams.

We welcome any kind of businesses with interest to find talents. The criteria is that the case assignment must have a link to international trade.
