FINNLINES is a leading shipping operator of RoRo and passenger services in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay. The Company’s passenger-freight vessels offer services from Finland to Germany and via the Åland Islands to Sweden, as well as from Sweden to Germany. Finnlines’ RoRo vessels operate in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay.
The Company has subsidiaries or sales offices in Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. In addition to sea transportation, the Company provides port services in Helsinki and Turku.
Finnlines is a part of the Grimaldi Group, one of the world’s largest operators of RoRo vessels and the largest operator of the Motorways of the Sea in Europe for both passengers and freight. This affiliation enables Finnlines to offer liner services to and from any destination in the Mediterranean, West Africa as well as the Atlantic coast of both North and South America.
Finnlines provides efficient sea transport services with more than 170 weekly departures and a fleet of 21 ships. Finnlines’ modern and varied tonnage guarantee frequent and regular liner traffic services around the year. All vessels are ice-classified and specially designed for northern conditions.
NESA - SECURITY OF SUPPLY IN FINLAND
THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY SUPPLY AGENCY - NESA is a central government organisation operating under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland. It is an expert organisation tasked with carrying out planning and operations related to the maintenance and development of Finland’s security of supply.
Traditionally, security of supply has meant ensuring the supply of materials. Today, however, the focus of security of supply operations is being increasingly shifted towards ensuring the operating capability of critical infrastructure. Critical infrastructure means the basic structures, services and related functions that are essential for maintaining the vital functions of society. These include the electrical grid, the water supply, transport routes and secure connections for data communications and financial transactions.
Continuity management creates operating procedures for severe disruptions. It is usually a voluntary activity, but in some industries, Finnish legislation obligates organisations to ensure the continuity of their operations in different circumstances.

PORT OF NAANTALI - PORT NEVER SLEEPS
THE PORT OF NAANTALI is one of the crucial TEN-T core Ports in Finland, which serves the trade in a wide range of the hinterland as well as the industry close to the port. The Port has an excellent logistical location along European Route 18 and well-known Nordic Triangle and ScanMed traffic corridor.
Industrial enterprises and factories (e.g. oil terminal, lubricant factory, combined heat and power (CHP) plant, betaine factory, grain silos etc.) operating in the immediate vicinity of the harbour generate large material flows.
The Port of Naantali is one of the busiest ports in Finland, with an annual cargo volume of more than 5 million tons and over 1,400 vessel calls. In particular, Naantali is one of the most important and busiest RoRo/RoPax ports for trucks and trailers in Finland and significant centre for liquid and dry bulk operations.

LOGISTIC ASSOCIATION OF SUSTAINABLE INTERMODALITY - ALIS
ALIS, Logistic Association of Sustainable Intermodality with 1.800 members companies, 205.000 workforce units, 135.000 vehicles, 142.000 annual maritime connections, 135 Motorways of the Sea, 200.000 annual train connections 160 Train lines 36 billions € of aggregate revenues carries a strong message to the whole transport’s world: the intermodality challenge goes through the important socio-economic benefits deriving from its own use.
ALIS seeks the reduction of the tax burden, hanging over companies and operators; promotes transport’s digitalization and a reduction in bureaucracy levels; proposes incentive measures for intermodality; supports an efficiency in terms of infrastructures and technological advances; cooperates with the members to recover a concrete and non-ideological perspective of the transports and logistics market.
ALIS wants to offer an important contribute in terms of digitalization in sustainable mobility and supply chain, de-bureaucratization and simplification. The digital transformation will bring significant benefits for transport and logistics in terms of efficiency, safety and competitiveness; is necessary a sector’s simplification and the training of new professional skills and roles.
