SeaFocus Privacy Policy and Customer GDPR Statement

The Privacy Policy required by the Personal Data Act (Section 10 of 523/1999). 

Data protection laws in Europe are becoming more stringent, so we have updated the privacy and cookie policies for SeaFocus. We do not collect personal data from anyone who contacts us, although we do retain your email address, but only to inform you about our latest news or events.


You will always have the opportunity to opt-out. Just let us know via email.

Registered Groups
The register contains personal information about SeaFocus´s existing personal and business partners and customers, students participants of the Intelligence Hunt project as well as about potential customers. Use of Personal Data Information is dealt with in connection with the sales and delivery of services and products, the development of products and services, invoicing and customer relationship management and development. In addition, personal information is used for organizing events, advertising and marketing, as well as other customer communication and marketing.

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Company name and job position (title)
  • Company / Personal address
  • Direct marketing information
  • Other information required for services and events (e.g. attendance at events and reported diets)


Regular Sources of Information in the Register
The register consists of the information given by the registered person or a third party with the consent of a registered person, gathered from publicly available Internet sources, and databases of customer information systems. 


Regular Disclosure of Information
The data controller shall only disclose the personal data of the customers to third parties with the consent of the data subject or if so required by the Authorities. The controller does not disclose personal data outside the EU or EEA territory. 


Participating Events Organised by SeaFocus

Please note that our events will be photographed and sometimes filmed. By participating in the event, you give consent that photos and film recordings of you may be used for publications (print, online, social networks, etc.). Please note that we collect your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.


Changing Information
The customer has the right to check and change information about himself in the SeaFocus Customer Register. 


The Right of Denial and the Removal of Data from the Register
The Customer has the right to deny the disclosure and processing of his/her information for advertising, direct marketing and other marketing purposes. The data can be removed from the register at the customer's request or due to the end of the customer relationship.


Principles of the Registry Protection
Personal data stored electronically is adequately protected by external firewalls and other technical safeguards, such as passwords. Only certain persons have access to the information and they have a valid confidentiality agreement.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user's device. They are used to improve the user experience of the service, helping the browser to remember the choices entered by the user in the service. WHY DO WE USE COOKIES IN THE SERVICE?

  • Information about the logged in user (user ID) is stored. The login is only valid for the duration of the browser session, after which the user must re-enter the username and password to the service.
  • Retain information about the acceptance of the cookie notification. Otherwise, that notification would appear for each page load at the bottom of the site.
  • The service collects statistics on visiting users. Google Analytics software is used for this purpose.

REGISTRATION

An event registration forms or email requests are used for registration into our events. By filling out the form or answering to an email, you can either register yourself to an event or inform us of any obstacles to your participation. By informing us of an obstacle, you can avoid receiving duplicate invitations.


EVENTS FREE OF CHARGE

  • If registered as a participant, we require participants to inform us in advance if you are not able to attend the event.
  • For online events the cancellations must be done three days prior to the event to info@seafocus.international.
  • For physical events the cancellation must be done five days before to info@seafocus.international. 
  • A cancellation fee of 100€+ VAT will be charged for participants of physical events who fail to notify us of their absence in advance.


EVENTS WITH TICKETS

  • Registrations for events are binding.
  • Tickets are non-refundable but transferable to another person.
  • Failure to attend will result in 100% participation fee charge.


If illness prevents your participation in an event, the participation fee will not be charged on condition that a medical certificate is provided within one week (7 days).
