The Finals of the 7th IntelligenceHunt project was held in conjunction with Messe München transport logistic 2021, online Conference Programme, May 5-6th, 2021. We had nine case companies and nine student teams competing.  The theme of the project competition was "Responsible, Resilient and Innovative Supply Chain".

The winner of the #IHCup2021 project competition was ABB Marine and Ports and the Student Team H1 TECHNOLOGIES with JONATHAN ATWOOD (US), NIKOLAI ANDRIAKOV (RU), NIKITA BREDIKHIN (RU), ANDRII NOVIKOV (UA), DANIEL OZOMMAH (NG), KAUNG THU (MM).

The team had two mentors, Esko Mustamäki (FI), Ali Abdellaoui (DZ). CASE ASSIGNMENT AND THE WINNER PRESENTATION

Christopher Berridge has worked within the offshore industry for over 20 years supporting installation projects within the telecommunications and renewable energy sectors, for the past 10 years he has worked for a company currently known as Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE).

SGRE are the worlds leading offshore wind turbine supplier and installation company having installed a generating capacity in excess of 15GW globally. I am currently responsible for SGRE’s offshore permanent  harbours  situated in Esbjerg (Denmark), Hull (England), Le Havre (France) and Taichung (Taiwan). 

Within these ports his teams are responsible for the planning and execution of component movements, storage and maintenance as well as leading SGREs communications with the various port authorities.

On behalf of CBS, she has a fundamental role in building global relationships and networks within the maritime industry. She is a member of many international boards and committees. Based on her extensive international network and experience, she has been entrusted with major roles in varied maritime-related activities, and speaks at leading maritime events. 

From 2005 to 2009 Irene Rosberg was Director of the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) programme. She is involved in several maritime-related research undertakings and research-based conferences where she draws on expertise from her wide maritime connections, both in terms of academic and industry input. Since 2013 she has been an evaluator for the Association of MBAs (AMBA), which is described as representing “the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education.” In 2014 joined the Board of Advisors for the Panama Maritime. Since 2017 she has been a member of an EU expert group for the motorways of the seas. At recent survey she achieved No. 1 place for the top 100 women in the shipping industry for 2020.

MARKKU MYLLY has been mentoring the Team GREEN WAVE on the case assignment by RAUMA MARINE CONSTRUCTIONS. 

Mr Mylly a long experience in the maritime sector since 1973. He was sailing in Finnish merchants ships until 1987, when he joined Finnish Maritime Administration. He worked in FMA until 2010 and he was the 10th and last Director General of FMA. In 2010 he moved to Finnish Port Association and worked there as a CEO until joined EMSA in 2012 September. He was the Executive Director of European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon, Portugal 2012-2018.

Mr Mustamäki has a long and wide experience in shipbuilding and maritime industry. He worked as a Managing Director for Arctech Helsinki Shipyard 4/2011 - 12/2018. Arctech Helsinki Shipyard was founded in 2010 specialized in building icebreakers and other Arctic offshore and special vessels. Today he is the Member of the Board of Directors of the Helsinki Shipyard.

Mr Kho is an independent advisor active in the container logistic and terminal industry since 2018. He has more than 30 years’ experience in this industry across the globe. His career includes 20+ year in several senior management positions in Asia and Europe with PSA and HPH, 2 of the leading global terminal operators. Recently he has been appointed as the CEO of the new TIC 4.0 Association (Terminal Industry Committee 4.0), supported by FEPORT and PEMA, developing standards for the terminal industry.

Introduction of the Case Assignment:  The Use of Hydrogen in Shipping  

SAMI KANERVA, Senior Principal Engineer, ABB Marine & Ports   

works in the technology development at ABB Marine & Ports. He received the degree of Doctor in Science from Helsinki University of Technology in 2005 and since then has intensively worked on technology concepts for renewable energy and marine technology. Sami has held several R&D positions and gained previous experience on electric machines, drives, wind turbines and power systems. He has conducted development of marine fuel cell systems at ABB since 2017.
